Government Schemes for Energy saving measures
At FullEnergy, we understand that making your home more energy-efficient is not just about the right technology—it’s also about accessing the right support. That’s why we’re dedicated to helping homeowners across the UK navigate the various government schemes designed to promote energy efficiency. These include the ECO Scheme, Flex Scheme and the Great British Insulation Scheme.

ECO Scheme
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government scheme that obliges larger energy companies to deliver energy efficiency measures to domestic premises in the UK. It’s designed to help reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty. At Upgrade & Save, we can help you understand if you’re eligible for this scheme and guide you through the application process.

- Income Based Employment and Support Allowance

Flex Scheme
The Local Authority Flexible Eligibility Scheme, or Flex Scheme, allows local authorities to identify households that would benefit from energy efficiency improvements, even if they don’t meet the traditional ECO eligibility criteria. If you’re struggling with your energy bills, FullEnergy can help determine if you qualify for assistance under the Flex Scheme.

Great British Insulation Scheme
The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS), formerly known as ECO+, is a £1bn scheme announced by the UK government to help households improve their energy efficiency between April 2023 and March 2026. The scheme aims to deliver mainly single, low-cost insulation measures to a large number of households quickly.
Key points of the GBIS:
1. Eligibility is divided into two groups:
– Broader Group: Households in Council Tax bands A-D in England, A-E in Scotland, and A-C in Wales, with an EPC of D and below.
– Low-Income Group: Households that qualify via the usual ECO4 criteria.
2. The scheme will support owner-occupied homes, inefficient social housing, and private rented housing with some restrictions.
3. Eligible measures include various types of insulation, with heating controls available only for the low-income group.
GBIS is designed to complement existing government schemes like ECO4 by focusing on installing the most cost-effective measures to achieve bill savings in as many homes as possible.
